The coffee hails from the Acatenango Valley of Guatemala. This region is renowned for its high altitudes, ranging from 1,300 to 2,000 meters above sea level, and is home to the Fuego Volcano. This bean boasts delicious bold flavors consistent with the rich soil which fertilized its development. This coffee is a natural process. Unlike washed coffees, after the coffee cherry is picked from the tree, the cherry is laid out to dry with the coffee bean still inside. Once the cherries are fully dry, the outer skin and fruit are separated to extract the coffee beans inside.

Acatenango Valley
Acatenango Valley in Guatemala is a coffee-growing region known for its unique elevation, mineral rich soil, and climate. The Acatenango Valley, nestled at elevations up to 6,500 feet (2,000 meters), thrives under dense shade, forming an ecologically rich forest. Frequent eruptions from the nearby Fuego volcano enrich the coarse, sandy soils with minerals. Additionally, temperate Pacific Ocean breezes and distinct seasons enable the coffee to be sun-dried.
